The Living Site

A website needs looking after once it's built, and the Living Site is the monthly upkeep that does that. It's for anyone who wants to know what keeps running on its own, what can be added on request, and what happens if they decide to stop.

Running without you

What keeps moving on its own

Once your site is live, parts of it keep moving without any request from you.

What you can add

A Living Site can carry more than the features it starts with. A directory, a calendar, games, product listings, live data links and serverless functions can each be added, on request, once the website is built.

  • Directory: a listing of businesses, members or other entries that visitors can search or browse on the website.
  • Calendar: a schedule of dates or events, shown on the website for visitors to check.
  • Games: interactive features built into the website for visitors to play.
  • Product listings: a catalogue of products shown on the website, with prices and details.
  • Live data links: a connection to data held elsewhere, shown on the website as that data changes.
  • Serverless functions: small pieces of code that run only when the website calls on them.

None of these come as standard. Each is added to fit the website it sits on, when the business behind that website asks for it.

Cancelling the Living Site

The Living Site runs month to month. There is no contract tying you in beyond the current month, and no fixed term to work through before you can stop.

If you decide to cancel, you can do it whenever you choose. There is no notice period to serve out and no fee for stopping early.
